Greeting Professional Firefighter Course Participants,

Welcome to the Professional Firefighter Course hosted by Faithful Guardian Training Center. The staff of FGTC works hard to ensure your experience in the class is both informative and enjoyable. Faithful Guardian’s Professional Firefighter Program has been approved by the State of Georgia through the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council to teach to the level of Firefighter 1 and 2 as well as Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations.

Similar to many such experiences, the amount of energy expended by you towards the program will have a positive correlation with the benefits you reap. Our training center enjoys the reputation of graduating motivated, high quality, employable candidates. We are pleased that you have chosen to attend our training center and we look forward to you carrying on our tradition of excellence.

The program will provide and evaluate the basic didactic and practical applications needed to function as a new firefighter recruit with a certified fire department. Once you successfully complete the program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Professional Qualifications Firefighter 1 and 2 as well as Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations exams.

Course Tuition

• The tuition for attending this course is $ 3,800.00.

• There is also a $75.00 non-refundable registration fee that saves your spot in the class.

• There are other costs not included/associated in the tuition. You will be responsible for purchasing your textbooks, uniform, clinical requirements, and other items not associated with the tuition cost. Please see the student financial responsibilities flyer for details.

18 years or older
No felony convictions (if any questions, call the office)
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Valid driver's license

Top Course Facts

The FGTC Professional Firefighter Program is being taught by FGTC, in partnership with the City of Carrollton Fire Department and Austell Fire Department. All live fire burns will be conducted on site of Carrollton Fire Department Training Facility and/or Austell Fire Department.

This course follows the Georgia Fire Academy approved curriculum for NPQ 1 Firefighter, NPQ 2 Firefighter and NPQ Hazardous Materials Operations.

The Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council will administer all credentialing exams.

The FGTC Professional Firefighter Program will be limited to 20 students per class.

The Lead Instructor for the course is Firefighter Christopher Chasse.

The course schedule is setup similar to many fire and EMS department schedules. You will meet every third day for class. This means you will attend class one day and then have two days off and then attend class again. There may be Saturday burns that the student has to attend (Saturday classes will depend on fire department schedule). The times for the day course is from 9am – 4pm & the course is approximately 6-7 months long.
