Courses are designed to build upon initial education programs and as enrichment. Course length varies with most courses averaging around 16 hours for completion. Certificate courses are recognized by the American Heart Association, National Association of EMTs or other professional organizations. Course fees vary. Advanced Medical Life Support

Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) is the gold standard of education for emergency medical assessment and treatment. Endorsed by the National Association of EMS Physicians, AMLS emphasizes the use of the AMLS Assessment Pathway, a systematic tool for assessing and managing common medical conditions with urgent accuracy.

Students learn to recognize and manage common medical crises through realistic case-based scenarios that challenge students to apply their knowledge to highly critical patients. The course emphasizes the use of scene size-up, history, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, and physical exam to systematically rule out and consider possibilities and probabilities in treating patients’ medical crises.

Prehospital Trauma Life Support

PHTLS courses provide a prehospital trauma care philosophy, stressing the need to treat the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. This may require an approach to the trauma patient that varies from traditional treatment modalities. PHTLS courses are based on the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), a course for physicians developed by the American College of Surgeons-Committee on Trauma. More importantly, PHTLS courses follow the principles of care of trauma patients as developed by the Committee on Trauma.

International Trauma Life Support

ITLS Provider includes 8 hours of classroom instruction, 8 hours of hands-on skills training, and testing for ITLS Basic or Advanced certification. Innovative skills stations let you practice the abilities appropriate for your level of certification.

With its comprehensive approach to core knowledge and skills, ITLS Provider is appropriate for all levels of EMS personnel—from EMT-Bs and first responders to advanced EMTs, paramedics, trauma nurses, and physicians.

Emergency Pediatric Care

The Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) course focuses on critical pediatric physiology, illnesses, injuries and interventions to help EMS practitioners provide the best treatment for sick and injured children in the field. The course stresses critical thinking skills to help practitioners make the best decisions for their young patients.

AHA ACLS

Advanced cardiac life support, or advanced cardiovascular life support, often referred to by its abbreviation as "ACLS", refers to a set of clinical algorithms for the urgent treatment of cardiac arrest, stroke, myocardial infarction, and other life-threatening cardiovascular emergencies.

AHA PALS

PALS is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics.

AHA CPR for Adults, Children and Infants

American Heart Association (AHA) CPR, rescue breathing, choking and use personal protective devices. Hands-on training with realistic mannequins, interactive videos, and experienced and knowledgeable instructors ensures an exciting and involved learning environment. American Heart Association certification card provided.

Automated External Defibillator (AED) Class

An add-on module that complements the CPR and/or First Aid class. Our AHA first aid and CPR, and AED programs are designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. The AED Module explains the need, the use and theory behind AED’s. Class includes hands-on practice with a Zoll AED unit.

AHA- First Aid Class

This hands-on course provides the rescuer with a basic knowledge of AHA First Aid procedures. The class covers burns, bleeding control, splinting, seizures, poisoning, shock, heat emergencies, eye and facial injuries, and infection control. AHA certification card provided.

AHA- Basic Life Support (BLS) Class

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as, other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Critical Care Transport Specialist

During this class you will view power points, listen to instructor lectures, and view examples of Critical Care skills and treatment. Our learning strategies are designed to teach you these skills as effectively as possible, and in the shortest amount of time.

At the successful completion of this program, FGTC will issue you a Critical Care Transport Specialist Certificate and you will qualify you to sit in on the Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) or Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) exams. These exams will be administered by the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification (BCCTPC) on the last day of the course. For the RN’s, this course will prepare you to take the CFRN and the CTRN. While we will have lots of fun over the next 14 class days, we strongly encourage you to take this course very seriously and to prepare for your BCCTPC exam starting TODAY.

First Responder Training

A certified first responder is a person who has completed forty to sixty hours of training in providing care for medical emergencies. The first of four levels of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. First responders attend a minimum of 40-60 hours in a state approved course of study.

Hazardous Materials Awareness

This 8 hour course will provide the student with a basic review of skills needed to identify hazardous materials problems, recognize the presence of hazardous materials, and identify hazardous materials and their associated dangers. This course will meet the requirements for annual review under 29 CFR 1910.120.

Hazardous Materials Operations Level

This 40 hour course will provide the student the basic skills needed to evaluate and work defensively at an incident involving the release of a hazardous material for the purpose of protecting persons, property and the environment from the effects of the release.

Hazardous Materials Operations Technician

Laws regulating training requirements for the Hazardous Materials Technician as set forth by Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Department of Labor (DOL), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Identifies a hazardous material incident, determines the magnitude of the problem, identifies and interprets hazard response information through the use of monitoring equipment. This is a 40 hour course.

Industrial Fire Brigade Course

This course is for all industrial personnel working in management, fire protection, security, or production. The school, conducted in 8 hours, consists of classroom instruction, demonstrations, and practical field exercises. Subjects to be covered in the classroom and demonstrations are: fire behavior, fire apparatus, interior structural fire fighting, safety, and fire fighter's personal protective equipment. The field evolutions include: hose handling, portable extinguishers, pressure pit, LPG complex, and round tank.

Confined Space Rescue

Confined space rescue is a subset of technical rescue operations that involves the rescue and recovery of victims trapped in a confined space or in a place only accessible through confined spaces, such as underground vaults, storage silos, storage tanks, or sewers.

OSHA

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, an agency of the US government under the Department of Labor with the responsibility of ensuring safety at work and a healthful work environment. OSHA's mission is to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths.

Fire Safety

This class is required for all Georgia Daycare Professionals within 90 days of hire. This course teaches fire safety, awareness, and prevention. State certificate provided, class available in the 5 hour format for initial certification or the 2 hour refresher course.

Bloodborne Pathogen

Federal OSHA requires that blood-borne pathogens training be provided annually to employees with potential occupational exposure. Participants learn to protect themselves and others from exposure through proper workplace safety and techniques. Textbook and ASHI certification card provided.

Baby Sitting Classes

The Child and Babysitting Safety Instructional Course is a community education program that covers child safety and basic care techniques for infants and children. The class provides fundamental information for home childcare workers or babysitters. CABS topics include child safety, and how to handle childhood injuries and emergencies. Great class for teenagers and young adults.

Child Injury Prevention and Infectious Disease

This course helps to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards within the daycare environment. Safety strategies and emergency action plans are included within the class format. ASHI certificate of completion is provided and this class is good for 2 DHR hours of CEU in Georgia.

EMS Educator Course

This course covers the basic knowledge objectives for the EMS Educator which includes the topics areas of the student, instructor, learning environment, administrative tasks, organization and Georgia specific rules and regulations. This course satisfies the requirement of initial educator training for the state of Georgia.

Individual Continuing Education

We will develop, monitor and deliver a customized training program to engage, equip and inspire classified staff to take their EMS service delivery to another level. This transformative program will include didactic resources, interactive exercises, practical examples, and real-time coaching in a focused and consistent environment.
